EDIT:

here's a helpful suggestion made by :icondarjeelingplumtea:
about playing around with the eye drop tool and creating color palettes from, photos:

"First the Eye Drop tool can be adjusted in Photoshop. It can do point samples (as you showed) but also 3x3 and 5x5 averages. (The adjustment is a drop down in the upper left: Sample Size.)

Second, color palettes can be created from a photo.

Find a photo with good quality skin color. (Some are as gray as the color picker colors!) (You're about to mess this photo up so work on a copy you don't need to save.)

1. Highlight the section of skin you want. (If the face, eliminate the eyes and teeth. Just do the skin.)
2. Copy then Paste (so it creates a layer with just the skin.)
3. Delete the background.
4. Under Image/Mode, choose Indexed Color.
5. Pick some reasonable number of colors like 8 or 16. Play around with the other settings, turning Preview off and on to see if it's converting to colors you like. Click OK.
6. Now when you choose Image/Mode you can pick Color palette ...
7. Click Save ...
NOTE: If it's not showing you the Color Swatches folder and you don't know how to navigate to it: Cancel.
7a. Go to Window/Color Swatches.
7b. Click the little icon in the upper right of the Color Swatches window.
7c. Click Load.
7d. Write down the path to the Color Swatches folder.
(The Color Swatches window is also where you'll load your palette when you want to use it. You can also add palettes together but other tutorials on the internet will be able to explain that better.)
7e. Do steps 6 and 7.
8. Give it a memorable name and click Save.

(If I wasn't clear, just search for "create color Photoshop palette from image". There are lots of tutorials.)

Hope those are useful "

^^^ again thank you :icondarjeelingplumtea:! it is pretty useful, i didn't even know. see i love when i get more suggestions! =]

This is very heplful! I have a black OC and I wanted to find tips on shading her skin. And like you, I noticed how awful the default color swatches are for darker skin tone.
